Agile Transformation
Agility as posture, not process theatre. I help organisations change the very structures that block change — from boardroom to team. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe are tools, not religion.

Managing Partner, launchlabs · Berlin
Consistently putting people first – and using AI as a lever, not an end in itself. I help organizations make progress where teams are stuck and complexity is holding everything back. From realigning leadership to building working prototypes, I create the clarity that turns into impact – with a distinctive micropolitical approach to transformation, grounded in my research on power and organizations.
About
As Managing Partner at launchlabs, I have spent more than fifteen years guiding organisations through transformation. The work has taken me across Europe, into boardrooms in Chicago and New York, through India — Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai — to Manila, to an innovative mobility project in Beijing, and on to Kigali and Nigeria. What I take from it: change follows similar patterns everywhere, but never the same path twice.
Concretely, that means: I design transformation programmes across entire units, facilitate strategy sessions at board level, and build prototypes with teams that don't end up gathering dust. Where it helps, AI tools do the heavy lifting — as a lever, not a replacement for the people who carry the solution forward. For me, good consulting shows in one thing: the team can continue without me at the end.
Alongside my role at launchlabs I run a systemic coaching practice as Dr. Simon Springmann Coaching & Consulting and hold teaching appointments: at Leibniz University Hannover since 2012 and at Code University Berlin since 2024. Connections that ground my work with organisations and continually sharpen it.
As an Ecosystem Partner of AIDIA I support the Afro-German founder community. Each year's pitch winners receive consulting and coaching from me free of charge, as they move from a first pitch to a viable organisation.

How I Work
Agility as posture, not process theatre. I help organisations change the very structures that block change — from boardroom to team. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe are tools, not religion.
Leadership isn't learned in seminars — it's clarified in the tension between aspiration and reality. In single sessions or long-term engagements I work with leaders and teams on what decides things below the surface.
Listen first, build second. I use Design Thinking not as a workshop format but as a discipline that helps teams understand real users, test hypotheses fast, and arrive at solutions that actually hold.
Strategy is only good once it lands on the operational line. I combine classical strategy work with what makes it effective: translation into reality, shared language, momentum over PowerPoint.
To lead is to make others effective. In programmes, trainings and 1:1 coaching I work with senior levels on what truly decides: clarity, self-leadership, communication under pressure.
Transformation rarely fails on methodology — it fails on unspoken power dynamics. From my research on power and organisations I've developed a micropolitical approach to transformation that makes these dynamics visible and uses them for change that holds.

What clients say
Simon and his launchlabs team made our Innovation Lab in Schweinfurt a runaway success — with deep expertise and real inspiration. The space gained enormous internal acceptance among our R&D colleagues in a very short time. The lab even earned a multi-page feature in the FME Magazine. launchlabs enabled a team of almost 20 engineers from Fresenius Medical Care's R&D department in agile working practices. Participant feedback was outstandingly positive, both during the training and afterwards. Many thanks to Simon and his team!
Simon and his team succeeded in creating a learning experience without equal: 3 modules, 9 days, over 3 months. The theoretical phase was paired excellently with practical implementation, and the rapid, well-suited switch to a virtual setting also worked very well for him and his team. By far one of the best learning formats I have experienced in 25 years of working life!
I've worked with Simon Springmann and launchlabs for several years on Design Thinking trainings and agile projects. As one best practice I want to highlight our engagements on Smart Banking and Intelligent Retail, which led to outstanding results. Simon's expertise helped us ramp up a remote setup alongside on-site work in India, USA, UK and Germany — and to act as swiftly as a 'phygital' world demands. Throughout the project, Simon has not only been able to keep our focus on the users, but also to understand and empathize with different cultures, which has significantly improved our teamwork. Thank you for your support to reach this stage. It would not have been possible to get to this level of refinement without your support and help. I hope we can work together in the near future.
I had the pleasure to participate in the seminar "Design Thinking Practitioner", a great cooperation between the University of Hanover and the launchlabs in Berlin. Simon and the launchlabs team did an unbelievable job in introducing us into this extensive topic. A high share of practical work made the time really fun and deepened the learnings. For me, this was one of the best seminars I have ever attended and can fully recommend it to anyone who wants to actively deal with this topic.
Simon left a particularly deep impression on me with his Agile Coach Curriculum (consisting of 3 modules, 9 training days and two practice phases) and advanced my development as an agile coach enormously. The concept he developed together with his launchlabs colleagues is extremely coherent, comprehensive and goes into depth without remaining on a purely theoretical level. Through a close link to practical examples from your own working context, you gain an incredible amount of new approaches, ideas and techniques. Simon himself is a real asset: with his background in Design Thinking, Agile Mindset, Holocracy/Sociocracy, … combined with his easy-going manner, he makes the topics easily accessible. This was the best training I have ever participated in! Many thanks, Simon!
Simon and the launchlabs team have been guiding us very successfully through Volksbank Lübeck's agile transformation since 2017. What began as an inspiration trip to Berlin grew into a deep transformation — today we have our own core team for agile working, the HanseLab as a launchlabs-certified place for creative collaboration, and internally trained Agile Coaches who now also advise external clients — along a tailor-made learning path from practitioner and facilitator trainings up to a multi-month applied Agile Coach curriculum. Simon and his team have understood, in a very special way, how to accompany us individually, highly professionally and at the same time very humanely.
